Preparing for success
If you're feeling unsure about what to expect, here are a few top tips for success:

Find out what's involved
Ask your recruiter what type of interview it will be - is it a 1-on-1 meeting, a panel interview, or an online session? What types of questions will be asked? (more on this topic on the next page!)

Be ready to take notes
Take a notepad and pen with you on the day so that you can write things down where needed. Write down key points from your preparation, or questions you'd like to ask.

Revisit your CV
Read the job description alongside your CV - look for connections, or stories, that match your skills and experience with the responsibilities of the job.

Research the company and your interviewer
Take the time to read up on the company - use their website, Google, social media pages, or news articles. Build your understanding of their business, but also their culture and values - what's important to them.
Ask the name of your interviewer and research them too - an easy place to connect is through LinkedIn.

Practice for any uncomfortable questions
There are some questions in interviews that everyone finds intimating. Have a think about any questions you might personally find challenging, and prepare for them in advance. This could be things like "what are your salary expectations", "why are you looking to switch industries" or "what pushed you to leave your last company".

Listen out for clues
At the beginning of the interview, your interviewer will typically share more details about the position you've applied for.
Listen for clues about what the company is looking for in a new employee, and use these to help shape your responses
